Cupar is a small village in the Kingdom of Fife, about an hour north of Edinburgh. We rented East Cottage on Parbroath Farm.

Cupar Balmeadowside lodge (May 2018)
We rented the Cherry Blossom Cottage on Balmeadowside Lodge. Balmeadowside is in Cupar, a small village in the Kingdom of Fife, about an hour north of Edinburgh.
Day 1: Wednesday May 9: Transfer late in the afternoon, from Amsterdam-Edinburgh, pickup rental car and travel to Cupar. Day 2: Thursday May 10: St. Andrews Cathedral and Isle of May (departure from Anstruther) Day 3: Friday May 11: Donnottar Castle and War memorial Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire; RSPB Fowlsheugh Nature Reserve Day 4: Saturday May 12: Bonnet Stane and St. Andrews Chathedral Day 5: Sunday May 13: Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, the Kelpies Day 6: Monday May 14: Edinburgh city and return trip

Oban (May 2017)
Lagnakeil Highland Lodge is close to Oban. Oban is a small city in the mid-west part of Scotland in Argyll and Butte district. During this long-weekend we rented a simple cabin “Conifer 2” on “Lagnakeil Highland Lodges”. Day 1: Wednesday May 24: Transfer Amsterdam-Glasgow, drive to Oban Day 2: Thursday May 25 (Ascension day): Oban and Donollie castle ruin, walk from the cabin. Day 3: Friday May 26: Een boat-bus-boat-tour to the Treshnish isles: Puffins on the Isle of Lunga; Fingal’s Cave on Staffa. Day 4: Saturday May 27: A rainy day, car trip to Highlands and Glencoe Day 5: Sunday May 28: Bronze age monuments at Kilmartin; visit to Inveraray castle. Day 6: Monday May 29: Kilchurn castle Ruin and return trip home
